Specialist Credit Risk
About the role
The Credit Risk Analyst plays a key role in defining credit rules, ensuring compliance with both regulatory limits and the Company's risk appetite. They will implement the credit strategy and closely monitor its impact on the portfolio, ensuring alignment with the company's objectives and values
Your day-to-day activities are likely to include the following:
- Coordinating cross-functional collaboration with corresponding departments (Operations, Customer Care, Marketing, IT, HR, Product).
- Developing and implementing the credit strategy for retail lending products – personal loans, credit cards, and digital lending – including incorporating new systems, strategies, and risk policies, data modeling, scorecards, acceptance processes, and credit management rules within credit policy parameters.
- Developing programs for the entire lifecycle of credit cards: initiation, limit granting, activation, usage, cross-selling, upselling, and retention.
- Ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and the Best Practices Guide, while ensuring the responsible lending process complies with the Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) principle.
- Ensuring creative approaches regarding customer segmentation and product development for both personal loans and credit cards.
- Managing the process of monitoring exceptions from the credit policy and ensuring that each exception is being investigated and explained by the sales department.
- Working closely with regional sales departments to propose process improvements related to lending/operations.
- Contributing to the development and implementation of projects concerning customer credit and monitoring activities.
- Developing solutions for customer segmentation and product development to improve business performance.
- Using, maintaining, and improving application evaluation systems used in lending activities.
- Managing the testing and implementation processes of new initiatives to support the Development Strategy.
- Maintaining the relationship with the Romanian Credit Bureau and local external partners for the development and management of credit evaluation systems.
What are we looking for?
- Higher education in one of the fields of economics, finance, or statistics
- Specialization courses and knowledge in credit risk
- In-depth knowledge of credit risk processes and systems
- Solid understanding of all aspects of customer lending
- Knowledge of the legal framework applicable to the granting of financial products
- Understanding of the mechanisms that generate revenue and losses, and that help optimize profit
